Class 19 of 200 BJJ classes
Weight 166 lbs.

Instructor: Chad

Chad was covering for Marcos who was out sick. He went over headlock escapes from side control. Good self-defense techiques!!

Had some good rolls but got completely smashed by Nate(brown). Definately gave me some things to work on before the Pan-Ams and Mundials.

Class 18 of 200 BJJ classes
Weight 166 lbs.

Instructor: Derrick(no-gi)

Derrick went over taking the back from turtle control and a seatbelt grip.

On of his key tips was to run the guy forward with the grips to break his base before looking to pull him into a back taking position.

He also showed a pretty cool one hand rear naked using your head to finish the choke.

Starting to recovery my strength even though I still have a few more days of the antibotics and I only rolled every round and the energy felt good. Tomorrow is a rest day unless my meeting at work gets cancelled.

Class 16 of 200 BJJ classes
Weight 168 lbs.

Instructor: Marcos

Marcos reviewed all of his half guard passing techniques for the week.

I still feel drained because of the antibotics and I only rolled once because I did not want the ear swelling up again.

Happy hunting to the guys from my academy who are going down to ADCC trials in Santa Cruz.

Class 17 of 200 BJJ classes
Weight 167 lbs.

Instructor: Marcos

Marcos went over good ol' fashioned cross chokes from the guard. Cross chokes are basic jiu-jitsu but that does not mean they are easily mastered.

My fingers are in such bad shape from years of abuse I tend to shy away from cloth choke but I need to start working more gi chokes.

Props to my boy Marcos "Yemaso" Torregrosa for winning gold at the ADCC West Coast trials and earning a trip to Abu Dhabi. Happy Hunting at ADCC in April 2010.
